Convention Center hotel boon to local business

Today, a funding plan for the proposed Convention Center hotel goes before the Metro council. Although $197.5 million seems expensive for a 600-room hotel, projections indicate the hotel would benefit Portland’s economy and workforce.

Coburg OKs Materne tax break

The Coburg City Council voted to approve a 15-year property tax break for French applesauce producer Materne that is hoping to build a new factory at the former Monaco site.
