Two private equity firms sold a combined $243 million of shares.
Thomas H. Lee Partners LP and Warburg Pincus each bought $171 million of shares of Spokane-based Sterling in 2010 as part of a critical deal to raise new capital. The shares converted to Umpqua Holdings Corp. stock when the Portland-based company purchased Sterling this year.
Now that the deal is done, the firms are exiting the investment.
