Keizer Fire District firefighter Jon Crow is opening a new business, First Due Smokey BBQ.
“First due” comes from a term firefighters use in reference to the engine assigned to be the first to arrive at a fire.
Armed with a large wood pit smoker and a trailer, Crow is starting by selling his fares at area festivals and making appearances at local watering holes such as f/Stop Fitzgerald’s Public House on Grove Street NE. He keeps people informed of where they can try his food on his Facebook page (under First Due Smokey BBQ).
