More than 23,000 Oregonians who lost their homes to foreclosure could get a check as part of a national mortgage settlement.
But first, eligible homeowners — who could receive a payment of $840 or more — need to claim the money by turning in a form by Jan. 18.
“We want to make sure that Oregonians take advantage of or are aware of all the resources that are available to them,” said Benjamin Pray, a spokesman for Oregon Housing and Community Services.
