New Seasons co-founder Eileen Brady filed a campaign committee, setting up the possibility of a run for mayor against incumbent Sam Adams.

Brady has said that she is undecided about running for mayor, but that she has been encouraged by many people to do so.

Brady’s family has loaned $5,000 to the committee, Friends of Eileen Brady. The committee has so far spent $436.83 on a website, computer and miscellaneous personal reimbursements.

In addition to co-founding the popular local grocery chain, Brady is active in a number of business and sustainability-related organizations. Among other things, she is a member of the board of the Oregon Business Association, is vice chairwoman of the Oregon Health Policy Board, is a founding member of the board of the Portland Sustainability Institute and is board chairwoman and co-owner of Celilo Group Media.
