A staffer posted the following cryptic message on Facebook yesterday:

“Today is the last day at Icebreaker for a lot of us. I won’t go into the reasons why as I technically can’t, but let’s just say it was not an ideal parting. But any bitterness aside related to that, I feel so lucky to have worked at this company with so many amazing people who will be my friends for life. We were not just a team;we were a family who took care of each other, who knew each other’s joys and sorrows, successes and heartbreaks.  I’m sad that it is coming to an end, but also so happy I was able to be a part of it for a while.”

A commenter responded: “Sad to think an era is coming to an end.” Another staffer said she will remain there for another 30 days.

Oregon Business made several calls to Icebreaker’s PDX marketing department, but no one answered the phone.  Stay tuned.

UPDATE: Global media contact Lauren Vosper said Icebreaker is merging its Portland and Vancouver B.C. support staff into its Vancouver office. Vosper said the company announced the merger two months ago to “interested media.” Icebreaker’s Portland office employed 25 support staff.
