BoltBus is expanding its service to introduce a Seattle-Eugene route.

Riders from Eugene will no longer have to change buses in Portland to get to Seattle. Passengers can also travel from Eugene to Portland seven days a week now.

BoltBus customers can thank the students at University of Oregon and Oregon State University in large part for the increased service, according to BoltBus General Manager David Hall. The company began service to Eugene in 2013. Since then, Hall said, “We’ve seen an increase in demand, especially from the large college population in the area.”

“The daily schedules allow college students and residents to have more flexibility when traveling, and more convenient schedules to choose from,” Hall said in a prepared statement.

The company has seen a 40 percent increase in ridership since launching a Eugene stop in 2013.
