Brew Dr. Kombucha, which spawned from Townshend’s Tea Co., is now looking to expand its product line.

Matt Thomas, the company’s founder and CEO confirmed that he’s started Thomas & Sons Distillery. The enterprise is making vodka, gin, fernet and other liqueurs from distilled tea.

Thomas said the expanded facility could help the company boost its output by 400 percent. Townshend’s has already grown by as much as 150 percent yearly since it started producing kombucha in 2008.
