Diana Dickey introduced a proposal that would “make all city-owned properties smoke free.”
Reducing smoke wafting through city parks is the primary focus, an idea that’s been discussed before by city council. Dickey, however, wants the city to consider a broader ban on smoking outside of city buildings because it’s a “work site issue” for public employees, she said.
Even the smoking policy for city-owned parking garages used by downtown shoppers might be reviewed.
