Portland-based Daimler Trucks North America will begin construction on its new $150 million Swan Island headquarters.
Governor John Kitzhaber will break ground on the 265,000-square-foot expansion between two existing office structures on North Channel Drive. Portland Mayor Charlie Hales and Daimler CEO Martin Daum will also be in attendance.
The new site will bring Daimler employees currently quartered on both sides of the Willamette River to one location and is expected to create new family-wage jobs.
