Nearly half of this year’s money has to two companies on rapid growth curves: Act-On Software announced a $42 million venture round in April and Puppet Labs announced a $40 million investment in June. Each deal was among the largest in state history.
Venture capital had been in a prolonged downturn in Oregon – annual venture investment in the state has been below historical averages in four of the past six years, by Dow Jones’ reckoning.
