Beaverton-based Tektronix and Portland-based Elemental Technologies will provide video technology to enable broadcasts at the Winter Olympics in Russia.

Tektronix will provide video test and networking equipment to NBC, which is broadcasting the Olympics in the U.S. Tek’s tools will aide in camera setup and verify signal quality.

Elemental Technologies is in Sochi, too. Russia’s Channel One is using Elemental’s technology to stream the games. And Elemental is working with unnamed broadcast partners to experiment with streaming the games in the new, ultra high-definition 4K video format.
