A new state report shows the Portland unemployment rate is at a new five-year low of 6.7 percent, down from 7.0 percent in October, despite a loss of jobs in November.
The Oregon Employment Department said the seven-county Portland region lost an estimated 600 jobs in November, the third straight set-back to the area’s job base.
About 72,400 people were out of work in the Portland-metro area, which includes Multnomah, Washington, Clackamas, Yamhill and Columbia counties in Oregon, plus Skamania and Clark counties in Washington.
