The Coburg City Council turned down a proposal for a Love’s Travel Stop.

The Oklahoma-based company had proposed constructing the project on about 10 acres of land on the northeast corner of Coburg Industrial Way and Pearl Street. The project would have included a fueling station for cars and tractor-trailers, a convenience store and fast-food restaurant with drive-through, and a tire service center.

Residents immediately raised concerns about noise, pollution and degradation of the town’s historic charm.
