Besides Portland, Oregon’s metro areas are growing more slowly than normal as recovery stumbles.

Unemployment in Oregon is now 8.0 percent, but among metro areas, joblessness varies from 6.0 percent in Corvallis to 10.0 percent in Bend.

Portland continues to outpace its Oregon peers, with widespread job gains across construction, manufacturing, finance and leisure and hospitality companies. Home sales and housing permits were flat.
