Kaiser Permanente has found new jobs for 50 of its 111 workers being laid off at its Lloyd Center membership services call center.

The center is being closed permanently, and the layoffs are slated to take effect Oct. 1, according to a notice filed Tuesday with the state.

The move is part of a push for a national call center that will feature extended hours and faster response times, the company said in a statement, adding that employees were notified of the move in March.
