Wilsonville-based Trellis Earth Products is moving its manufacturing plant from China to Rochester, N.Y.

The company, which makes disposable “bioplastic” plates, cutlery and garbage bags from corn starch, will take up residence in a former Eastman Kodak Co. factory and begin production in early 2014, Chief Operating Officer Craig Mittelstaedt said.

“We’d love to stay in Oregon, but the majority of our market is on the east coast, the northeast and southeast,” he said. “Even though we cut our teeth and established a market beachhead on the west coast, the market is so much bigger on the east coast.”
