The 2013 Oregon Legislature came to an anticlimactic close July 8.
Gov. John Kitzhaber praised the Legislature for its work on education, mental health and public safety reforms.
“Oregon’s on the right track,” he said. But he also noted the failure by the two parties to reach a compromise that would have put even more money into schools and reduced government pensions further. “We have one very important piece of unfinished business,” Kitzhaber said.
