Portland mapping startup Meridian was sold to Silicon Valley-based Aruba Networks.

Plans call for retaining — and expanding — Meridian’s Portland office following today’s deal, according to Drew Bernard, a Meridian board member and member of the Oregon Angel Fund, which backed the company.

“Meridian will be run kind of as a wholly owned subsidiary,” Bernard said. “Aruba understands this is the future. They’re really bringing these guys in to build a division for Aruba.”
