Portland-based mobile developer Meridian landed Macy’s as its first large retail customer.

Starting today, the department store chain’s iPhone app uses Meridian’s technology to provide directions around its flagship store in New York.

The Herald Square store, already the largest in the country, is undergoing a 100,000-square foot expansion that will bring its total retail space to 1.2 million square feet.
