Columbia Sportswear set a record for first quarter revenues, due to late-season cold weather.
Cold-weather events closed the winter season. But overall, back-to-back years of warmer-than-usual winters have had a chilling effect on retailers’ orders, said Tim Boyle, Columbia’s chief executive.
Retailers have struck a “cautious posture in placing advance orders for our fall 2013 product offering,” Boyle told analysts Thursday in a conference call.
