A Washington, D.C. business is proposing to build a $3 million system on a Coburg farm that turns methane gas from cow manure into electricity.
The system would occupy about 3 acres on the Konyn family’s nearly 360-acre farm at 91760 N. Coburg Road, said David Konyn, manager and co-owner of the farm.
RES Ag Konyn would lease the site from the farm, build and operate the digester, and sell the energy to the Emerald People’s Utility District, sharing the revenue with the farm owners, David Konyn said. The RES stands for Revolution Energy Solutions, the parent organization of RES Ag Konyn.
