After the success of Portland’s Carbon Audio with their first product, the Zooka, the startup plans many new products.

…The Portland startup’s first product, Zooka, [is] a Bluetooth speaker that resembles a squeegee handle and fits snugly onto a tablet computer or laptop and can be used with a smartphone, too.

The $99 pricetag is a strong selling point, as is its compact design, and consumers have responded accordingly. The company posted nearly $4 million in sales after Zooka’s launch the last quarter of 2012. About 100,000 units have been sold worldwide by such retailers as Best Buy, Nordstrom, Target, Amazon, Walmart and Apple, which debuted the product exclusively in August.
