Unemployment fell almost one full percentage point to 8.5% in Lane County as several sectors added jobs.
The local unemployment rate was below the statewide rate of 8.7 percent but still above the national rate of 7.8 percent.
Manufacturing once again added jobs, about 100 from the previous month. Manufacturing has been stable, or growing slightly, for most of the year, Brian Rooney, regional economist for the state Employment Department, has said.
