Walmart filed a real estate transaction for an 8,500-square-foot space in downtown Portland.
The transaction says the building will be for the company’s “retail – ecommerce division.” When contacted, Wal-Mart officials said the building will be used by one of its design teams to create mobile applications for the company.
Wal-Mart already has three stores in the Portland area, with a fourth opening on Aug. 1 in Gresham. A Wal-Mart “neighborhood market” is being proposed for Oak Grove, but residents in the area are protesting its construction.
