Walmart plans to open another “Neighborhood Market” in January in Gresham.
The store — at 60,000-square-feet, smaller than the usual Wal-Mart fare — is located in the former Food 4 Less location and will include general merchandise, fresh groceries and a pharmacy. The store, where about 95 people will work, will feature environmentally-friendly LED lighting, high-efficiency fluorescent lights and sensor-activated sinks and toilets.
Walmart, which operates 31 stores in Oregon, has opened a total of 168 of its smaller neighborhood market concepts since 1998.
