South Korean company Uni-Chem could complete a deal to acquire Eugene’s former Hynix plant by the end of the week.

Uni-Chem will sign a formal contract on Friday to acquire Hynix’s computer-chip plant and 200-acre site in Eugene for $45 million, Uni-Chem Chairman Ho Chan Lee told The Associated Press in Korea before heading to the United States.

Park Hyun, a Hynix spokesman in Korea, declined to confirm Lee’s comments, saying negotiations were under way.
