Mulitple projects are in the works to expand student housing in Eugene following steady increases in enrollment.

Investors’ eagerness to build more housing for University of Oregon students apparently has not been dampened by the construction of hundreds of new campus area apartments in the past couple of years, nor by Capstone’s recent announcement that it will begin building a huge student housing project in downtown Eugene later this summer.

Three other sizeable new student apartment complexes — totaling 141 units with about 450 bedrooms — are in the planning stages, according to tentative proposals filed with the city of Eugene, along with four smaller ones totaling about 40 to 50 units.
