SolarWorld cut more than 250 jobs in Europe, blaming unfair Chinese competition.

The German government may file the trade complaint instead of SolarWorld, Environment Minister Peter Altmaier told WirtschaftsWoche magazine.

The complaint will accuse China of dumping solar products at below production costs, similar to the charges in a recent U.S. case that brought import tariffs, said Milan Nitzschke, SolarWorld’s spokesman.

While the company cuts as many as 300 positions in Europe, SolarWorld Industries America will keep its 1,000 jobs in Hillsboro, said Ben Santarris, a company spokesman in Oregon.
