Portland ranks No. 1 for most cyclists per capita, according to Bicycling Magazine.

For its ranking, Bicycling Magazine evaluates cities with populations of 95,000 or more with data from the League of American Bicyclists and the Alliance for Bike and Walking. The magazine also interviewed hundreds of cycling experts in cities throughout the nation.

Portland also ranked No. 1 for bike commuting in the U.S. this week, as reported by Bloomberg News. Some 5.4 percent of the city’s workforce bike commutes, according to the 2010 Census. Ranking second, with 3 percent of its workers bike commuting, was San Francisco.
