Oregon landed $6.68 million in federal grants to help launch a health insurance exchange.

Health insurance exchanges outlined in the federal Affordable Care Act are regulated online marketplaces for state residents to comparison shop for coverage. Congress called for their nationwide establishment by 2014.

While some states fight the federal health reform law or await acting until the Supreme Court rules on a constitutional challenge, Oregon, Washington and about 30 others have committed to getting state-run exchanges ready to start enrollment next year.
