Digimarc reported an 88% jump in quarterly revenue, and will pay its first dividend next month.
Beaverton-based Digimarc derives revenue by licensing its patents and by developing new technology that recognizes and authenticates digital images. The company has about 100 employees.
Digimarc’s first-quarter revenues totaled $17.0 million, up from $9.1 million in the same three months of last year. That includes $8 million in royalties paid by licensee Verance Corp. after the settlement of legal dispute dating to 2010.
