State regulators set an expansion of Frontier’s broadband network as a condition for approval of that deal. Among other conditions, the Oregon Public Utility Commission required that Frontier spend at least $25 million to expand high-speed Web access in Oregon.
Frontier said this week that it’s added broadband service to 25,000 homes and businesses since taking over Verizon’s Oregon territory, and now offers broadband in 95 percent of the areas it serves.
