The company already is the largest wholesaler of organic produce in the Pacific Northwest. But it will more than double its storage and shipping space in the Portland area when it moves into a new facility in Gresham, driven by what company officials say is the increasing demand for organic produce by consumers.
“The organic food trade continues to grow at a rate several times the rate of the (nonorganic) — 8 percent last year,” said Natalie Reitman-White, the company’s director of sustainability.
