New Oregon filings for limited liability companies (LLCs) have grown substantially during the last decade, reaching 24,151 in 2006, while the number of new corporations remained about half that at 12,887. Among the state’s 372,002 active filings in August, however, corporations accounted for 33% and LLCs only 26%. By county in 2005, the largest number of business establishments were in Multnomah (24,146), Washington (13,578), Clackamas (10,625), Lane (9,931) and Marion (8,055).
