But in the last decade the situation has reversed, with corporations staying about the same and new LLCs growing 19% per year on average. Total active filings as of July have grown 22% during the last five years, with the LLC share of them increasing from 15% in 2003 to 28% in 2008. Assumed business names are the only filing that has declined (-2%).
