Applications for new Oregon corporations and limited liability companies (LLCs) fell 8.6% and 5.4% year-to-date in September. Among active listings, there were 120,805 corporations, 2.1% fewer than last year, and 118,246 LLCs, 3.4% more than a year ago. LLCs have become a more favored business form, growing 84% in the last five years, while corporations grew only 1.9%. Assumed business names and LLPs, meanwhile, declined 4.8% and 6.6%, respectively.
