Planar Systems missed its revenue forecast for the third fiscal quarter, but the Hillsboro electronic display company expects growth next year.
Third-quarter revenue totaled $45.7 million, just below the $46 million to $48 million Planar had told investors to expect. Revenue was up 2.1 percent from the third quarter last year.
Planar has been struggling for six years against a decline in sales of its computer monitors and similar electronic displays. Its acquisition of a high-end home theater company proved counterproductive, when demand fell amid the recession.
