Having balanced a two-year budget of $15 billion, plus approving new boundaries for legislative and congressional districts and passing new education and health care initiatives, lawmakers quit in a rare business-hours adjournment at 2:50 p.m.
“Compared with other states in the country … we are going to adjourn with a body of accomplishment that Oregonians can be proud of,” said Senate Majority Leader Diane Rosenbaum, D-Portland.
