SolarWorld is expanding its U.S. presence, and is adding workers in Hillsboro and Camarillo, California.
“SolarWorld achieves continuous cost reduction with the help of the most advanced equipment, highly automated manufacturing processes and optimum logistics,” said a company release issued Thursday.
Combined employment in Hillsboro and Camarillo, Calif., has grown to exceed 1,300, said Devon Cichoski, a company spokeswoman.
By year’s end, SolarWorld managers expect their U.S. and European module production capacity will exceed 1 gigawatt.
