Portland startup Pixetell is turning off its online collaboration tool after being acquired.
The startup has not yet explicitly named who they were purchased by, but have said that Brainshark, a Massachusetts company, will offer Pixetell-like features on their platform.
A message…on the company’s website tells visitors that “due to a recent acquisition of Pixetell, our online service will be discontinued on May 31, 2011.”
Pixetell — known until last year as Ontier — launched in early 2008. Chief executive Sebastian Rapport created it as a business communication company “that bridges the gap between email and web conferencing.”
