Ski resort owners breathe sigh of relief


Early indications are that this winter will be a good one for outdoor sports.

After two consecutive winters of little snowfall in the mountains, ski resort owners are hoping this year is different.

And early indications are that this winter will be a good one for outdoor sports as Oregon’s higher elevations saw a great deal of precipitation starting last week.

“We got almost a foot and a half of snow since Wednesday morning. Conditions are awesome and it’s been a great opening,” said Tragethon. “You can just tell from the smiles on the faces of our skiers and snowboarders up here.” 

In Southern Oregon, Mount Ashland opens Sunday. Mount Bachelor near Bend opened more than two weeks ago.
