Companies dedicated to creating a “clean economy” grow at twice the pace of their counterparts, a recent study found.
It found that environmentally-focused policies are spurring economic growth.
Key study findings include:
- As of 2014, the region includes 577,372 clean economy jobs, an increase of 91,656 (approximately 19 percent) since 2010.
- Oregon added 4,800 clean economy jobs to total 48,321, growing 11 percent since 2010, faster than the state’s overall economy.

In Oregon, the “clean economy GDP” increased 25% over the last five years to add $7 billion to the state economy.
