Bike n Hike owner Kevin Chudy will retire after he sells off his remaining inventory, closing his last store standing in Beaverton.

He’d previously shuttered outlets in Hillsboro and Milwaukie.

He closed the Hillsboro store last month, which operated for 25 years at 156 S.E. Fourth Ave., with all its fixtures in place with the same hope, that a new bike store will take over. The Milwaukie store is gone for good. He liquidated everything and closed the shop, which had been open since 1988.

Chudy opened Bike n Hike on Southwest Beaverton-Hillsdale Highway, not far from Jesuit High School, 31 years ago. It’s a small, modest looking store on the outside, and Chudy has turned the inside into a warm, welcoming shop with wood and brick highlighted with bright jerseys and helmets. He offers all levels of bikes, from high end road and mountain bikes to urban cruisers and electric bikes.
