Yet another Oregon company has decided to relinquish ownership to its employees.

Owners of Curtis Restaurant Equipment made the decision to sell their stock to their 54 employees.

The management of the firm will stay pretty much the same, President Dan Curtis said. The sale will enable the firm to remain locally owned and keep its name, he said.

“We have had opportunities to sell the company in the past, but we didn’t want to do that,” Curtis said. “We wanted to maintain the Curtis name. And we’ve had a great relationship with our employees and the community. And we wanted to maintain that.”
