ASSOCIATED PRESS: Powerful wind storm on Tuesday kills three and leaves more than 300,000 without power.

Police said a woman in her 50s was killed Tuesday when a tree toppled in Spokane, and another died when a tree fell on her car southwest of Spokane. A man in his mid-20s was killed when a tree crushed his car as he was driving near Sultan in Snohomish County.

Utilities say the number of customers without power remained in the six digits early Wednesday. Numerous schools have canceled classes.
