ESI, a Washington County producer of micromachining tools, is rising with the success of Apple’s newest products.

ESI is among other Silicon Forest companies, like TriQuint and Linear Technology, that benefit from their part in creating iPhones, iPads and other popular gadgets.

Sales to Apple and its affiliates provided 30 percent of ESI’s total sales in the last fiscal year, up from 21 percent the prior year.

In dollar terms, that’s $44.7 million in sales to Apple during fiscal 2010, up from $33.0 million in the prior year. (ESI’s overall sales fell to $148.9 million last year, down from $157.3 million.)
