Daimler’s facility in Madras will receive an $18 million boost, to include more than 30 new jobs.
The money will go toward research and development.
The facility will continue to test Daimler’s Freightliner, Western Star, Thomas Built Buses and Freightliner Custom Chassis nameplates. It features a track that allows engineers to simulate “a typical vehicle’s full service life, travelling over a variety of road surfaces, in less than six months.”
Daimler’s also hard at work on a major $150 million Swan Island expansion.
