Portland is in the middle of another construction boom, with residential and office projects springing up downtown, in the Pearl and Old Town. OB Web Editor Jessica Ridgway documents the new wave.

The Janey II , a nine floor residential building, is springing up on the corner of NW 11th & Everett. Located in the Pearl District, the 62-unit apartment building sits alongside the Janey, which is six floors and has 50 apartment units.
Below: Old Town feels a bit like a ghost town; many of the buildings in Chinatown district are boarded up and permanently shuttered.

But activity stirs at the 2BWell clinic on NW 3rd and Burnside.

Around the corner from the OB offices, the Park Avenue West Tower reaches toward the sky. The 30-story mixed-use development will be completed in 2015. (Roll your cursor over the image for different views.)
