Beyond the carefully managed environment that schools take pains to provide, the old information highway has become a fast lane into broadening communities of peers and, inevitably, the vast online world. At times, they find themselves in difficult situations that weren’t previously part of life for children in grade school—and many that shouldn’t be. Inexperience is a problem.
